Keyword rank tracking
Which phrases to track, how often positions are checked, and how to read the chart.
Updated September 13, 2026
Rank tracking lives under Posts and Ranks. It checks where your site appears on Google for the phrases you choose, as a searcher in your market would see them, and charts the trend over time.
Choosing phrases
- Two or three agent phrases per neighborhood you serve, such as North Park realtor and real estate agent North Park.
- One or two city level agent phrases for the long game.
- The homeowner questions your articles answer, such as cost to sell a house in San Diego.
- Ten to twenty phrases in total. Skip homes for sale in your city; the portals own it and it teaches you nothing.
How often positions update
Weekly. Daily rankings fluctuate for reasons that have nothing to do with you, and checking daily produces anxiety rather than decisions. Look at the trend over four to eight weeks before changing anything.
Reading the chart
A new site usually shows most phrases unranked for the first month, then homeowner questions appearing on pages two through five, then neighborhood phrases climbing over the following quarter. Phrases between positions 11 and 30 are your best opportunities; RealQube prioritizes weekly articles for them. If nothing has moved by week twelve, email us and we will look at the site with you.
Competitors
Under Market Intel you can add competitor domains to see how they rank for the same phrases. It is a quick way to spot neighborhoods nobody is contesting.
